Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman introduced legislation condemning states that issue driver's licenses to immigrants living in the United States Illegally. Coleman's resolution is cosponsored by 15 Republican seators and no Democrats. This indicates thet the senate roll-call will probably show most Republicans in favor and most Democrats against, including Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Allowing states to issue driver's licenes to illegal immigrants hamstringgs national security and gives illegal aliens the same resources that were used to attack the United States on 9/11.Eighteen of the 19 hijackers had valid driver's licenses.Licenses allow hijackers access to bank accounts and buy tickets on cross-national flights that ended abruptly at the Twin Towers and at the Pentagon.
A driver's license allows illegal immigrants to enter federal buildings, vote in elections and apply for government benefits. This practice in eight states, such as Utah and Oregon, leaves a gapimg hole in our national security: I am glad that Senator Coleman has the courage to stand up against it and I urge Senator Amy Klobuchar to do the same. I report,U decide.

John Edwards, candidate for US president, is marching, yelling and holding up an UNFAIR sign with the striking Hollywood writers. How does he know who is being unfair, labor or management, I don't know. Without knowing who is right or wrong he is automatically taking a position with labor. Hollywood gives virtually all of their support and money donations to the Democrats and he is thanking them for that. You don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Social Security checks will increase by 2.3% in 2008. This is based on consumer price index (CPI) increase for 2006. This is based on prices paid by family of four in an urban setting living an average life style. The maximum payable wage for taxing social security has risen from $97,500 to $102,000 resulting in higher collections from people of higher incomes. This will include 12 million more people paying higher ss tax. This is based on the average wage index (AWI), hourly wages paid to urban wage earners and clerical workers, which has increased by 4.6% over the previous year. Simply put, wages have gone up more than prices tha past year and the past 20 years. I hear a lot of "yabut" excuses, but none hold water. This data can be found at www.ssa.com.

Keith Ellison, US congressman from 5th district Minnesota, is proposing a bill to ban the use of photo IDs to identify a legitimate voter at the polls. Ellison's excuse is that "such requirements disenfranchise minorities, the poor, women elderly and young people." Probably at least half of the eligible voters come under thos categories especially myself being elderly at 79 years of age and my wife, a woman, and we are poor enough that we live payday to payday. Among the young we have six children and seventeen grandchildren , most old enough to vote, and are able to do so without help. It seems to me that Mr. Ellison is catering to those who are marginal knowing that they will vote for candidates of his own platform, especially Hillary Clinton.

..."sanctions, as those imposed against Iran, are more likely to work if the military option is looming in the background". This was in response to John Edwards who declared that the president and his team had once again "rattled their sabers in their march toward military action". Unlike all her opponents, Edwards and Obama etc., Clinton supported a pro-sanctions resolution in the senate. Lesson to be learned from Iraq is that wars can be caused by a lack of confrontation. I report and U decide.
