Bulletin Board Pioneer Press Tuesday October 9 under title The Darndest Things. Warning! Cute kid stories ahead! by Basil's Great-Gramma Marianne.
Our great-grandson Basil, age 4, was his grandmother Mary's only grandchild. When Jenny, his cousin, was born, and he learned that his Gramma Mary was going to be her Gramma too, he responded quite indignantly that she should get her own Gramma.
Today he shares Gramma Mary with both cousins, Jenny and Joey.

Oprah Winfrey has annointed Barack Obama as her choice for '08. By the sound of over 20 million clicking TV remotes she can determine the votesw of her fans. SHOULD AN ENTERTAINER HAVE SUCH POWER? Is her judgement that much better than mine? She should share her platform with me and allow me to reply. There are many people i waould rather go to for advice other than Michael Moore, Sean Penn (close and personal friend of Hugo Chavez), Jane Fonda (Hanoi Jane), George Clooney, Rosie O'Donnell )all mouth and no brain)and most of Hollywood. They have an inordinate amount of influence over the Democratic voters. In 1992 Hollywood voted 83%, as did North Minneapolis, for Bill Clinton and they have a venue to spread their message to millions of gullible voters besides donating millions of dollars to the Democratic party. That's too much power for a small groiup of people to have.

Current T.V. commercial shows little child taking first steps toward grandpa's image. Grandpa sez "There he is, come to grandpa", and at that point the image disappears into thin air.
TO BE THERE TOMORROW, STOP SMOKING TODAY.

A common practice carried out by Democrats is, if you don't like something "JUST PASS A LAW". Now Senator Amy Klobuchar is doing her Democratic duty by sponoring a bill to control wireless phone companies. Her main point is to abolish fees for early termination of contracts. Upon making a survey of five wireless companies I find that two require one or two year contract and the other three require no contract. Mine, Verizon, with a two year contract gives a $149.00 phone for $29.00 , a saving of $120.00. Klobuchar claims that when moving from Minnesota to Washington DC one of their phones lost contact. It is hard to believe that DC wouldn't have full coverage. She also proposes other actions to improve services. When this is done it costs money and the consumer ultimately pays the charge. There are many choices of a vendors in a very competitive industry. There ain't no free lunch.
