John Edwards, candidate for President, will lose millions if he is able to jam socialized medicine down our throats. John Edwards made his fortune suing doctors for malpractice with 44 multimillion-dollar settlements and and another 33 near one million. Under socialized medicine there would no longer be such suits. The Democratic party has always voted against legislation to control high dollar settlements. All that money has added billions to the cost of health care. No system of universal health care can afford the lottery-style tort awards that plague the American system.

"So if John Edwards somehow wins the election and institutes his system, he will have accomplished one positive thing: John Edwards will have rid the American system of people like John Edwards. Now that's progress."

Another champion of socialized medicine is Michael Moore. To take Michael seriously one has to be from another planet or sorta stupid. Is Moore at 305 pounds and a very unhealthy body mass index of 39 , with obesity at a BMI of 30, the one to make judgements? Not for me. With socialized medicine he would be forced to lose 100 pounds down to BMI of 25. This is being proposed in Great Britain.

Headline New York Times from London Sept 9, 2007. Immigrants from India and other non-European Union countries will be forced to learn the English language before they are allowed to enter Britain, according to new rules to be introduced soon. Problems of communication arise when people with no English language skills interact with government officials, the National Health Service and other public services. From my conservative point of view, a person unable to understand English cannot possibly be a responsible voter.
