It appears that the Democrats in the Legislature want to bail out the poor folks who were "forced" by unscrupulous lenders to take out loans they couldn't afford.

Why is there this irresistible impulse by the lefties to want to dig people out of holes they created for themselves as a result of stupidity, recklessness and/or greed, and to completely reject the concept of personal responsibility?

These people made a conscious decision to buy these homes. No one forced them to do anything.

Why should those of us who have our lives in order, through hard work and discipline, now have to pay for the recklessness of others?
